Almost six years of courting later, Jake proposed to Carolyn while atop Black Balsam Knob, southwest of Asheville. The future Mrs. Gann knew something was suspicious that auspicious day when Jake picked her up in a freshly cleaned car and insisted on dining at particular restaurant (he's not known to be a planner). And while the duo describes that evening as the "best night ever," it's their spring nuptials that take the (wedding) cake. Relying on her experience documenting Big Days—Carolyn's an Asheville- based shutterbug—the bride says what she wanted most was a happy celebration free of unnecessary stressors. Custom ceremony programs printed on paper bags filled with colorful confetti welcomed all, an in-ground trampoline entertained folks during the cocktail hour, and Beer Quidditch (yep), corn hole, and a spacious dance floor set the stage for a reception that made her wishes come true. real weddings
